Sometimes it is super fun to go paddle on a different and new location. We have paddles the Amsterdam canals many times by now and even these canals get the same after a while. SURF LIFE camp owner Harry Glotzbach is a dear friend and BOGA teamrider and lives right at the Amsterdam Forest where he took me for a paddle last month. While paddling the idea popped up to organize a up tour in this beautiful forest in Amsterdam. We had some rain, we had some cloudy, we had a bit of wind... But who cares... It was one of the most impressing paddles ever in Amsterdam. Afterwards we had some drinks and bites (thanks every one for taking some) and Harry and his girl played some songs so it did actually feel like an after paddle summer picknick! Felt like we were in a fairy tales forest trees hanging over our heads and silence filled with rain drops and birds singing. Amsterdam Forest we'll be back!
M&M Stand Up Paddling blog
Danielle attended one of the last classes in 2014 and fell in love with paddle boarding immediately. As a kid she used to sail races and spend all her weekends and holidays on the water. With paddle boarding she re-found her love for watersports and bought herself a BOGA board to keep on paddling during the fall and winter months. She also became a close friend and in spring we decided she could start teaching start up classes, as a former ski instructor in America she knows hoe to teach an motivate. We are so happy to have her on board. By now Danielle has her ASI level 1 and 2, Functional Paddling certification and last winter she attended a yoga for surfers course with Peggy Hall in San Clemente which means you can also meet her during one of our SUP & YOGA classes this summer. Danielle teaches the start up and follow up classes every monday night and whenever she has some extra time she attends the tours and events.
Danielle is also a member of team BOGA Europe and has attended the SUP 11 CITY team in Team Boga in 2014 and in 2015 she paddled the last stage on her Typhoon 14' team board.
Never underestimate the importance of a good warming up before you go out on the water for a paddle surf sup session, paddle race training or sup long distance tour. Warm up your body with a couple of simple yoga poses demonstrated by BOGA teamrider and yogi Jeramie Vaine. It will help you perform better on your stand up paddle board and engage your core during your session on the water. Take your time for this warm up and don't forget to focus on your breathing during these poses. After this session grab your BOGA paddle board and hop on the water for a fun paddleboard session!
